SMRT has done a good job so far on warning the commuters of the dangers of the MRT..ie standing behind the yellow line when the train is approaching, minding the gap in between the platform and the train, to watch out when the doors are closing..blah blah blah blah..
BUT! They have left out one extremely important hazard which could be critical to your well being. Wondering what it is? Well in my opinion they SHOULD flash the following message:
-WARNING!! ADOLESCENT SCHOOL BOYS IN THE CARRIAGE. ENTER AT OWN RISK -
Why you may ask? Never have I had such an unpleasent train ride such as the one I had today..had to rush down to give urgent tuition as the kid told me last min he had a Maths CA the next day(like wtf mate?)..I was hungry, tired, irritated and sleepy...and the first thing I heard after stepping into the train was the loud laughter of a bunch of Malay school boys. What's so dangerous about that you may ask? Well whats so dangerous about a tumour growing the back of your brain? These boys have the same effect on people, minus the 10 or so odd years it takes for the tumour to develop. They are so damn irritating, the ah bengs at Mambo night would cringe and shrivel up in fear of them.
You probably am thinking " Oh come on, you are probably over reacting." ya la even if I am this is my blog so I don't care. Haha. K that was out of point. 20 mins of attempted rapping, shouting, and really really bad singing and sound effects kinda gets to you..esp when you are stuck in a crowded train with no where to go...as if having the mobile TVs weren't bad enough..I'm cringing now as I type this down. Singapore Idols, they are definately not..
Anyway "irritating school kids" has moved up my list of irritating things on public transports, right after "loud gossipy aunties", "people with BO", "TV Mobile" and "kiasu people who squeeze and nudge past you to get on the bus/train first".
Which leads me to wonder..were we all ever once like that..argh! Aiyoh..
Oh yeah SDBA is finally over, got 2nd for the T2 1000m (yay we got a medal..woohoo) and 4th for the T2 500m race..could have done better I guess but am happy with the races la..thanks to the NUS canoeing team for all the support..and for all the beer..haha. great bunch of pple! Really enjoyed training with them. Congrats to the team! NTU may have won..but we're still stronger right? hahahahaha. Also thanks to Kos and Sweet Thing for coming down to watch our race!!
So that's it this year for the noisest T2 pair(me and Bryan) which kallang has ever had, maybe till next year la..for now its back to CanoePolo and the big game of catching up..term is almost over and I'm still at tutorial 3. haha. Wish me luck!
